Millersville University's Elicia Anderson turned in a blistering time at the Millersville Metrics' 3,000-meter run Saturday, and for her effort, she was named Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference Women's Track Athlete of the Week for the second week in a row and the third time in the outdoor season.
The Eastern York High School graduate has now won the weekly award in three of the five weeks it has been awarded, and it is her fourth weekly honor overall including the indoor season. She is the only track athlete to win the award more than once in 2012.
In her only home meet of the season, Anderson took first in the 3,000 by out-running her nearest competitor by nearly 11 seconds. Her time of 9 minutes, 48.60 seconds was the fastest in the PSAC this year by almost seven seconds. Anderson has won the Millersville Metrics 3,000 in each of the last two years.
Anderson now owns the PSAC's season-best times in the 5,000 and 3,000.
