Two Dallastown Area High School students were honored in a statewide competition for creating public service announcements that discourage underage drinking.
Ashley Kahl and Benjamin Staub both received an honorable mention from the state's Liquor Control Board in its first High school and middle school Alcohol Education video contest.
The board narrowed the entries from 250 submissions to 20 prize winners. The winning videos will be featured on the board's Facebook and YouTube pages, and may be used as part of a statewide alcohol education advertising campaign, according to a release from the organization.
For the contest students were asked to create a 30-second "no use" message in a positive tone.
Kahl and Staub will receive $100 each for their placement as honorable mentions, according to the release.
