After a months-long break, work on East Berlin Road in western York County will resume Monday.

Crews started the repair and resurfacing project on the 7-mile stretch of Route 234, know locally as East Berlin Road, in November but had to pause for the winter, according to a news release from the state Department of Transportation.

When construction crews return to work on the $3.2 million project, they'll resurface East Berlin Road between Sunset Road in Paradise Township and West Market Street in West Manchester Township, the release says.

The work also includes drainage updates, base repair, curb cut work required by the Americans with Disabilities Act, guiderail installation, sign replacement and new pavement markings.

During the project, the road may be down to a single lane with flaggers in place, the release says.

At some point this spring, crews will close a section of the road for a weekend to place a drainage pipe under it. A detour will be set up for that portion of the project, the release says.

The entire project is expect to wrap up by the end of September, the release says.
