Recent snow and icy weather produced many downed trees and branches throughout York City. In an effort to assist residents and curbside businesses, the City will open the Yard Waste Facility at Memorial Stadium, 10 A.M.-2 P.M. Saturday, Feb. 22, weather permitting. The original date of Feb. 15 was postponed due to weather.
Branches should be no more than 4" in diameter and the material must be emptied onto designated piles.
For city residents only, participants must provide proof of customer status or residency, such as a valid license or a recent sewer bill. Yard waste may be dropped off during hours of operation only. Violators will be prosecuted under the local ordinance for illegal dumping and may be fined up to $600.
