Two new officers joined the Fairview Township Police Department when they were sworn in on Thursday.

Anthony Jackson and Brian Kinney, both 23, were sworn in by district judge Scott Gross, according to a news release from the police department.

Jackson and Kinney recently graduated from the 103rd Police Academy at Harrisburg Area Community College, the release says.

The men finished in the top two spots after the department's interview process, which included written exercises, oral interviews, a background investigation, physical and psychological examinations and a drug screen.

The department has 14 officers, including Jackson and Kinney.
