A sixth-grade student at a York City school disassembled a small pencil sharpener and used the blade inside to scratch himself and another sixth-grader, according to police.
York City Police were called to Phineas Davis K-8 at 300 S. Ogontz St. for the incident at 11:45 a.m. Sept. 17.
Officers confiscated the blade, which was about three-quarters of an inch long, according to police.
Neither sixth-grader required medical attention from an ambulance, police said.
The boy who scratched himself and his classmate is being charged as a juvenile with possession of a weapon on school property and harassment, police said.
