A Stewartstown man was charged after pulling out a gun during an argument, according to a news release.
On Friday around 7 p.m., officers from the Southern Regional Police Department were dispatched to 106 N. Third St. in New Freedom Borough for a report of an argument involving a man with a gun, police said.
When police arrived, they found multiple people in the area, including two reported to have shown guns.
After detaining the armed people and interviewing all six people involved, police determined the altercation was over the sale of a vehicle and return of a deposit. The argument became physical and witnesses said a man pulled out a handgun and pointed it at two other people involved, police said. No injuries were reported.
Police then arrested Chad Michael Peters, 32, of Stewartstown and took him to central booking on charges of simple assault and harassment. His bail was set at $10,000. The second subject was released and not charged.
