A bedroom blaze Monday afternoon in Springettsbury Township left a family of three homeless.

About 12:45 p.m., a smoke alarm alerted the family to a fire inside their home in the 3800 block of Oakleigh Drive, said York Area United Fire Chief Robert McCoy.

One adult and two children live there, he said.

Firefighters extinguished the blaze in the single-story home in less than 10 minutes, McCoy said.

A state police fire marshal is investigating to determined what caused the blaze.

No one was hurt, and damage is estimated at $125,0000, the chief said.

The family is staying with friends.
