A York City man was rushed to York Hospital by ambulance Monday afternoon after being shot at the corner of Roosevelt Avenue and Lincoln Street in York City, police said.

The shooting was reported at 12:21 p.m., according to Lt. Tim Utley, who supervises the city detective bureau.

Ronald Rhoades, 24, of the 900 block of Marbrook Lane, escaped life-threatening injuries, the lieutenant said.

He was shot in the back of the leg and suffered a minor gunshot wound to the back of his head, Utley said.

Rhoades told detectives he doesn't know who shot him, but police said they doubt his claim.
