A York City teen is being charged with aggravated assault on a police officer for an incident outside William Penn Senior High School last week.
According to York City Police, officers were called to the high school about 1:15 p.m. Sept. 26 for a student fight.
Several students were arrested for fighting and being disorderly, police said.
But while that was going on, other students tried to interfere with officers' attempts to arrest the fighting students, according to police.
One of those youths struck Officer Daniel Craven on the side of the head as Craven was arresting another student, police said.
Police did not release the name of the youth who hit the officer, but said the teen is being charged as a juvenile with felony assault.
