York City firefighters and their families are invited to enjoy a free, homecooked meal Saturday.

For the second year in a row, the Veterans Memorial Park Neighborhood Association will host its Feed the Firemen event. It's a way to say thanks to the city's volunteer and paid firefighters, said Carol Hill-Evans, an organizer and president of the York City Council.

The association will serve spaghetti, salad, bread and dessert from noon to 6 p.m. Saturday in the upstairs room at the York City Ice Arena, 941 Vander Ave.
