Two York County men will be among five people to be ordained as deacons at 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Patrick Cathedral, 222 State St. in Harrisburg.

Bishop Joseph P. McFadden will be the principal celebrant and perform the Rite of Ordination during the Mass. The ceremony is planned to be streamed live at www.hbgdiocese.org, according to a diocesan press release.

Being ordained from York are Stephen Kelley of St. Patrick Church in York City and Mark Wilke of St. Joseph Church in Dallastown.

Also being ordained are Kevin Kayda II of St. Patrick Parish in Carlisle, Cumberland County; Matthew Larlick of St. Margaret Mary Parish, Harrisburg; and Daniel Richards of Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary Church in Lebanon County, according to the diocese.All five individuals being ordained are seminarians in the final stage of their training for the priesthood.

Following their ordination, they will be assigned to a parish in the diocese where they will assist pastors by visiting the sick, teaching, counseling and working with parish organizations, the diocese said.
