The York County Heritage Trust will present the summer educational series, the Stabler Series. This series of free workshops features hands-on sessions about history and the arts presented by local artisans from the York Town Craft Guild.
The series begins Saturday with the theme of Building Your Own Radio.
The workshops will be held throughout the summer, with a different workshop on every designated Saturday.
Workshop themes include Hand-Built Pottery on June 9, Beaded Jewelry on July 14, Scherenschnite Paper Cutting on July 21, Weaving on Aug. 4 and Historic Tie-Dying on Aug 11. Classes will be located at various YCHT locations.
Courses will begin at 11 a.m., and most will last approximately two hours.
The Stabler Series workshops are funded by the Donald B. and Dorothy L. Stabler Foundation. The workshops are free; however, pre-registration is required. Complete course details are available online. To register for the workshops, email AIMREC@yorkheritage.org or call 717-848-1587 ext. 301.
