Sabrina Duke recently left a physically and emotionally abusive relationship.

She never realized it could happen to her but now wants to let other women know that it can and that doesn't make you a weak person.

Friday evening Duke, along with a team which included two men, took part in the 'Walk a Mile in Her Shoes' event put on by YWCA York in partnership with York Revolution.

This international march is aimed at stopping rape, sexual assault and gender violence.

All proceeds benefit York County victims of domestic violence, sexual assault and other violent crimes.

Duke hopes the walk will inspire other women to have the strength to leave the same kind of situation she once had.
