One of the perks of passing age 60 is the chance to get a senior citizen discount at a lot of businesses.

But next week, being 60 also means the chance to attend a free health fair.

The Senior Outreach Services Health Fair for adults over the age of 60 will be held Tuesday at the West Manchester Mall.

"The goal is to provide information on the services available to seniors in the community," said Tamara Ramer, health education specialist with the York City Bureau of Health.

Caretakers of older adults are also welcome to attend the event, which runs from 8 a.m. to 11 a.m. beside Macy's and Walmart.

At the fair: Those attending may participate in free health-care screenings for vision and blood pressure.

Giveaways and door prizes will be featured at many of the vendors, along with a wide variety of information on health care and aging services.

Nineteen vendors will be on hand, and those who attend can discuss insurance options for seniors, among other issues.

The next free senior health fair will be Wednesday, April 18, from 1 to 3 p.m. at Normandie Ridge.
