The first baby born in York County was delivered nearly two hours after ringing in the New Year Saturday morning.
At 1:54 a.m., Chris and Kim Jordan of Springettsbury Township welcomed Chase Gregory, a healthy 7 pounds 1 ounce and 19 3/4 inch long baby boy, into the world.Jordan was born at York Hospital.
Several hours later, runner-up Matthew Wayne Shindledecker, born at 8:27 a.m. at Hanover Hospital.
The baby boy, who weighed 6 pounds, 13 ounces, was born to Maricela and Nick Shindledecker of Hanover.
Atat Memorial Hospital, Azlyn Rose Sweeney, a baby girl weighing in at 7 pounds, 8 ounces and 20½ inches long, was born at 12:09 p.m. to Mary Quackenbos and Gabriel Sweeney.
