We the People say no more
I am writing this letter to express my concerns over the implementation of Common Core standards in my child's education. My child is a unique individual with unique skills. He is not your son, he is not my neighbor's son. He is his own person and should not be put into a category based on standards that are nothing less than "common."
Traditional education did not fail my older child, did not fail me and did not fail those that came before me. What has failed is the government's involvement in education. Since the government stepped in taxes increased and GPAs have decreased.
Learning is about inspiration and creativity, which help a child embrace school and become passionate about what is being taught. If you take away a teacher's ability to teach freely, you are taking away a child's ability to learn.
Enough is enough with the government's involvement in every aspect of our lives. The Constitution was written to protect us from this type of tyranny, and it is time to get back to our roots. We, as individuals, need to have a voice that is louder than the overreaching government, lobbyists and big businesses.
It is We The People who are paying the price, a price which will soon destroy a generation of children because of an inferior education. It is time that those who represent us do their job and listen to what we have to say. No more Common Core.
