In response to the article concerning the Pennsylvania Medical Society's resolution calling for gun violence to be treated as a public health issue, guns are not the problem, never were the problem and never will be the problem.
The problem is that people in the United States have lost respect for human life, and some of the blame for that falls squarely on the shoulder of the medical profession.
Since abortion has been legalized, more human life has been lost by the knives of abortion doctors than by gun violence. While crimes committed by illegal guns grab the headlines, doctors quietly continue killing innocent babies for profit.
Until abortion doctors and Planned Parenthood stop killing babies, human life will never be respecte6d, and killing will continue, but it won't be because of guns.
Guns in the hands of law-abiding citizens are a deterrent to crime, and the right to bear arms must always be respected.
