I would like to thank the 36,111 York County residents who voted for me on Tuesday. I humbly appreciate your support, and the support of our many volunteers and my family. The last 12 months have been quite an experience for this nurse-turned-candidate, and many of you embraced my vision from the start. For that, I am forever grateful.
Having been blessed to receive 74.2 percent of York County voters' support, it is my intention to implement the programs you told me you wanted to enhance and improve our services: better education and awareness about suicide prevention in our schools and community, and "compassion and caring" teams of volunteers who will work with area chaplains and counseling resources to reach out to survivors after loss.
As promised, we will also work to enhance our death investigations and provide a coroner's office website for the community to access for health, safety and coroner's office-related information.
I also want to say that I appreciate the 16 years of service by retiring Coroner Barry Bloss. We will be working together over the next two months to ensure a smooth transition process.
I will never forget the honor and trust the voters have placed in me. I will do my very best to earn your respect and confidence every day as I bring my passion for people to the York County Coroner's Office.
