On behalf of our patients, families and the York County and Hanover communities, the American Cancer Society takes this opportunity to thank our invaluable volunteers.

National Volunteer Week is April 15-21, and we are proud and grateful to have an opportunity to thank the many wonderful volunteers who support the American Cancer Society in the mission of Creating More Birthdays. There are countless ways volunteers help, including our patient programs: Look Good-Feel Better, Wig Boutique, Road to Recovery and Reach to Recovery; and our special events: Relay for Life, Making Strides Against Breast Cancer, Daffodil Days, Benefit of Hope and Models of Hope. They create special fellowship and help provide necessary funding in the fight against cancer.

In the York office, volunteers help with office needs and serve on the Volunteer Leadership Council. In the work of finding a cure, we have volunteers participating in the Research Study Cancer Prevention 3, and being actively involved in advocacy with our elected local and national officials.

These and many other volunteer activities create our American Cancer Society, working every day to help others stay well, get well, find cures and fight back. Thank you, volunteers.
