Food for Fines: The York County Libraries will accept donations of nonperishable food items to reduce library fines in July. Each canned or boxed item a library patron donates will eliminate $1 from his or her fines for overdue materials. Suggested donations include cereal, pasta, soup, rice, beans, macaroni and cheese, juice, peanut butter, canned tuna, and canned fruits and vegetables. Do not bring in out-of-date food or dented or rusted cans.
The donations will benefit local families through area food banks. Visit www.yorklibraries.org or your local branch for more information.
