U.S. Sen. Pat Toomey will give the parting address to York College's graduating class this spring.
Toomey joined the Senate in January 2010 and will be featured guest at the May 12 ceremony, which will be held outdoors on the campus mall.
The Harvard University graduate and Republican will receive an honorary doctorate. Retiring York College board of trustees member H. Douglas Campbell Jr. will also receive an honorary doctorate.

Gov. Tom Corbett provided the commencement address last year. College spokeswoman Mary Dolheimer said the college had no particular rationale for the selections
outside of regularly seeking elected officials.Tickets are required to sit under the tent at the 10:15 a.m. ceremony, which will also be broadcast on the college website.
