RECOGNITION

---Southern York County School District: Received the 2013 Outstanding School Library District Award May 3 from the Pennsylvania School Librarians Association. The five district librarians are Lynn Clements, Southern Elementary; Anne Bozievich, Friendship Elementary; Wendy Fitzgerald, Shrewsbury Elementary; Norma Conley, Southern Middle; and Kayse Corrieri, Susquehannock High School. The library assistants are Jacqueline Winterson, Southern Middle; Sharon Snyder, all three elementary schools; and Sandy May, Susquehannock High School.

---Northeastern High School: Senior Ian Bogle won second place in the computer problem solving category at the Future Business Leaders of America competition, held April 14-17 in Hershey. He will represent the state in the national competition this summer in California. Other NHS winners are Shelby McGuigan and Jessica Richardson, business communications; Aaron Johnson, personal finance; Erik Stroup and JT Speed, management decision making; and Kaiser Shaffer, technology concepts.

---Red Lion Area High School: The student council received a 2013 National Gold Council of Excellence Award from the National Association of Student Councils.

---Dover Area High School: Sophomore Levi Murphy attended the Central Penn Hugh O'Brian Youth Leadership Seminar in May.

---Southern York County School District: Students who performed in the Organization of American Kodály Educators National Choir in Hartford, Conn., are Riley Clark, Julia Kelbaugh and Olivia Schroeder from Southern Elementary; Carly Farmer from Friendship Elementary; and Hannah Munch, Julia Twaddle and Michaela Bryan from Southern Middle School.

---Randolph-Macon Academy: Freshman Peter Blair, of Stewartstown, was named to the third quarter dean's list.

---Randolph-Macon Academy: Junior Brook Blair, of Stewartstown, received the Delaney Athletic Conference Lacrosse Player of the Year Award.

---Northeastern High School: Was awarded first place in the No Place for Hate regional video contest, available at http://vimeo.com/63358443. Also, Northeastern School District was one of 10 districts in the state to be named a No Place for Hate district for the fifth consecutive year.
