The York Art Association will offer four workshops in March at their studio, 220 S. Marshall Street, York.

The York Art Association will offer four workshops in March at their studio, 220 S. Marshall Street, York.

  • Experimental Mixed Media with Julie Yontz Rupp will meet from 9:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. March 11-13. Students from beginner to advanced level will work with various water media, on canvas or paper, and will explore different techniques to achieve textural effects. Cost: $115.
  • Basic Drawing for Beginning to Intermediate Artists, taught by Phyllis Disher Fredericks, will meet from 9:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. March 17-20. Students will learn perspective, composition, measurement with the eye, gesture drawing and human figure drawing. Cost: $145.
  • Encaustic (The Old/New Medium) with Linda McCloskey will begin at 6:30 to 9:30 p.m. Friday, March 21, and continue from 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.on Saturday, March 22 - Sunday, March 23. Beginners to advanced levels are welcome. Encaustic is painting with beeswax and resin, and dates to about 1000 B.C. Cost: $115.
  • Introduction to Digital Photography for Artists, taught by Pat Teller, will meet from 9:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. March 26-28. This workshop is designed for beginners who are having trouble with skills needed to shoot, edit, organize and print quality photos. Cost: $115.

A $25 discount on any workshop applies for members. Membership costs begin at $30.
