Jess Meuse and Bria Anai Johnson were among the singers who shined as American Idol began to reveal its Season 13 semifinalists Wednesday night.

Jess performed one of the night's best original songs, a tune called "Done," but had to survive a sing-off with fellow singer-songwriter Jesse Roche to advance to the semifinals.

Brian Anai, just 15 when she auditioned on the show, turned in perhaps the night's best cover, a rendition of "It's a Man's, Man's, Man's World."
