The Pennsylvania Renaissance Faire opens its season at 11 a.m. Saturday on the grounds of Mount Hope Estate and Winery off Route 72 north of Lancaster. The Professional Bowlers Association East Region Bowlers Supply/Storm Products Cheetah Open is set for this weekend at Colony Park North Lanes in York. Eight-game qualifying sessions will be held at 8 a.m. and 2:30 p.m. on Saturday. The top 16 bowlers advance to match play on Sunday to compete for the first-place prize of $2,500. Match play action begins at 8:30 a.m. Sunday. The tournament is free and open to the public.
The Susquehanna League baseball playoffs begin Saturday afternoon with four games set for 1:30 p.m. Game 2 in each of the best-of-3 quarterfinals is scheduled for 1:30 p.m. Sunday. Game 3 in each series, if needed, will be 5:45 p.m. Tuesday.

New season subscriptions and single-concert tickets are now on sale for the York Symphony Orchestra's 2012-13 lineup, which features four classical concerts, two pops concerts and a variety of other events.
