The All Star Obedience and Rally Championships feature dogs competing for prizes all day Saturday and Sunday at the York Expo Center. The Toyota Arena will open at 7 a.m., and competition gets under way at 8 a.m. both days. Information: allstardogs.org or (717) 848-2596.

Grace Lutheran Church, 220 N. Charles St., Red Lion, kicks off a free monthly concert series with a performance by gospel singer Jim Worthing at 3 p.m. Sunday. Refreshments will follow the tenor's performance. Information: (717) 244-3603.

Israeli acrobats and gymnasts ages 8 to 18 will give a free performance incorporating music, tumbling and more from 7 to 9:30 p.m. Saturday at the York Jewish Community Center, 2000 Hollywood Drive, York Township. The Pennsylvania Renaissance Faire opens its season at 11 a.m. Saturday on the grounds of Mount Hope Estate and Winery off Route 72 north of Lancaster. WEEKEND SPORTS


 
The Professional Bowlers Association East Region Bowlers Supply/Storm Products Cheetah Open is set for this weekend at Colony Park North Lanes in York. Eight-game qualifying sessions will be held at 8 a.m. and 2:30 p.m. on Saturday. The top 16 bowlers advance to match play on Sunday to compete for the first-place prize of $2,500. Match play action begins at 8:30 a.m. Sunday. The tournament is free and open to the public.

The Susquehanna League baseball playoffs begin Saturday afternoon with four games set for 1:30 p.m. Game 2 in each of the best-of-3 quarterfinals is scheduled for 1:30 p.m. Sunday. Game 3 in each series, if needed, will be 5:45 p.m. Tuesday.

New season subscriptions and single-concert tickets are now on sale for the York Symphony Orchestra's 2012-13 lineup, which features four classical concerts, two pops concerts and a variety of other events.
