York Suburban Senior High School's principal is leaving the district at the end of the school year.

Russell E. Greenholt has been hired as assistant superintendent in Conewago Valley School District in Adams County, where he'll start July 1.

Greenholt has been at the high school for four years, and in that time has developed several initiatives, said Superintendent Kate Orban, including the Trojan learning center.

His replacement will likely be selected by mid-June, Orban said, to allow for transition time.

Local and national applicants are being sought, and the community has been asked for input in qualities they want out of their new high school leader.

"Someone with a lot of energy," is needed, Orban said. "It's a very visible position."
