The state Senate Education Committee recently approved a bill that would allow the state to appoint a conservator to steer financially distressed school districts, including York City's, back to health. We asked if you support what is essentially a state takeover of school districts.

Of 80 people who participated, 55 -- or 68.75 percent -- supported the bill, saying those school boards had their chance and failed. Twenty-five -- or 31.25 percent -- did not, saying there's no reason to think the state can do a better job than school boards.
