Nine York-Adams League football teams earned spots in the upcoming District 3 playoffs.

The Class AAAA, AAA and AA games will begin on Friday night at the home fields of the higher-seeded teams. The Class A games will get underway on Friday, Nov. 15, with the semifinals.

Central York and Dallastown made the playoffs in Class AAAA, and Dover, Spring Grove and New Oxford qualified in Class AAA. Littlestown and Bermudian Springs are in the Class AA field and York Catholic and Fairfield are two of the four teams in the Class A competition.

Central, Dover and Littlestown, the three division champions in the York-Adams League, will play at home in the opening round of districts. Dallastown, Bermudian Springs and York Catholic will have also have at least one home game.

Spring Grove, New Oxford and Fairfield will travel out of town for their first-round matchups.

The Rockets were on the playoff bubble going into the final weekend, sitting in the 17th spot (only 16 teams qualify in Class AAA for the playoffs).

Spring Grove, though, insured its place in the postseason by scoring a 31-15 victory over South Western, leaping to the No. 13 seed in the process.

The Rockets and Dover did not meet during the regular season, but if both teams win their opening games, they'll clash in the quarterfinals.

Dover will take on Milton Hershey in the opening round, and Spring Grove will travel to Conrad Weiser.

Central, the No. 5 seed, is in the top half of the AAAA bracket with No. 1 seed Wilson and No. 4 seed Lower Dauphin.

Dallastown, the No. 3, seed, is in the bottom part of the bracket with No. 2 seed Cumberland Valley.

Central defeated Dallastown, 17-7, during the regular season.

Littlestown and Bermudian Springs are in opposite parts of the AA bracket, so a rematch could only happen in the title game. The Thunderbolts scored on the last play of game to nip Bermudian, 12-10, on Oct. 25.

York Catholic and Fairfield have to win their first-round games to insure a second game between the Fighting Irish and Green Knights this season. Fairfield edged York Catholic, 13-12, on Sept. 13.

Fairfield takes on top-seeded Steel-High in the district semifinals, and York Catholic plays Upper Dauphin.

Following are first-round pairings for the 2013 District 3 football playoffs, which begin on Friday night. Teams are listed along with their seeds and won-loss records.
