After helping NCAA Division III Susquehanna University capture the program's first-ever Landmark Conference title this season, Susquehannock High School graduate Casey Hood was named the conference Pitcher of the Year on Wednesday.
Hood, a junior who was also named to the All-Landmark Conference First Team, finished the regular season with an 8-1 record, including a 5-0 mark in league play.
Overall, the left-hander started 11 contests and pitched two complete games, posting a 2.71 ERA over 66.1 innings with 50 strikeouts and only five walks. He allowed just 20 earned runs and limited opponents to a .224 batting average.
Susquehanna (28-12) has improved its win total by 14 games from a year ago and has secured an automatic bid in the NCAA D-III tournament by winning the Landmark Conference tournament.
