York High graduate Aignee Freeland has been named the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference West Division Women's Basketball Freshman of the Week for the second straight week.

The 6-foot, 3-inch Freeland made her first career starts this past week for Edinboro University and set career-high with 18 points and added eight rebounds, a block and a steal in a 70-51 win at previously unbeaten California (Pa.). She also had six points and seven rebounds in a win over Davis & Elkins. Freeland shot 9-of-12 from the field at Cal and leads Edinboro in field goal percentage this season at 58.1 percent (25-of-43). Freeland finished the weekend averaging 12 points and 7.5 rebounds across both contests.

For the season, Freeland is averaging 7.7 points per game and is second on the Scots with 6.6 rebounds per contest. Edinboro is 5-2 overall and 2-1 in the PSAC West.
