It was not the best of days for the York College baseball team on Sunday.

The Spartans got swept in a doubleheader at Jaquet Field to visiting Ithaca, 7-2 and 8-5. York fell to 25-10 on the season, while Ithaca improved to 26-8. Ithaca came into the game ranked No. 20 in the latest NCAA Division III rankings, while York was No. 26.

Brad Wenzel (three hits, two runs, one RBI), Colbe Herr (two hits, two runs), Derek Pitzer (two hits, two RBIs) and Andrew Hershey (two hits, one run) led York's offense on the day.

York's starting pitchers allowed 10 runs in eight innings. York's defense permitted seven unearned runs in the twinbill.
