Two York College cross country runners were honored by the Capital Athletic Conference on Tuesday.
For the second time this season, York senior All-American Tim Hartung was named the CAC Men's Cross Country Runner of the Week. Hartung led the Spartans to a second-place finish at the Cathcart Invitational hosted by Salisbury. While the Spartans finished second, Hartung also finished second, crossing the finish line in a season-best time of 25 minutes, 13 seconds. Hartung finished 20 seconds in front of the next highest NCAA Division III finisher. Hartung has been the Spartans' top finisher in all four events this fall.
York junior standout Jess Miller was named the CAC Women's Cross Country Runner of the Week after a strong performance at the Cathcart Invitational. Miller led the Spartans to a third-place finish. She finished third individually with a time of 22:15.40, her best time of the year. Miller was the top Division III runner at the event by more than 33 seconds. Miller has been York's top finisher in every event this year.

SPARTANS FALL IN FIELD HOCKEY: The York College field hockey team suffered a 3-2 loss to Alvernia on Tuesday in Reading. Kirsten Bridgers and Holly Martin had York's goals, while Kailey Brewer had an assist. Abby Baker made 10 saves in a losing cause. York fell to 3-6, while Alvernia improved to 6-3.
