York College senior men's cross country runner Tim Hartung has been named the Capital Athletic Conference Men's Cross Country Runner of the Week for the week ending on Sept. 15.

Hartung won the Rich Achtzehn Classic held at John Rudy Park on Saturday in York. He captured the individual title in his last race at Rudy, after earning top-five finishes in his three previous Achtzehn Classic races. Hartung cruised to the individual championship in 27 minutes, 2.17 seconds, winning the race by over 12 seconds.

FIELD HOCKEY TEAM RALLIES: The York College field hockey team earned a 4-3 come-from-behind win over Shenandoah in non-conference play on Tuesday afternoon in York. The Spartans improved to 2-3, while Shenandoah fell to 3-4. York rallied from a 2-0 hole. Holly Martin, Jillian Brezgel, Kailey Brewer and Katie Petrillo had York's goals. Brezgel and Nancy Saylor added assists.

SPARTANS SWEEP GOUCHER IN TENNIS: The York College men's and women's tennis teams each earned 6-3 victories over visiting Goucher on Tuesday. In the men's event, York (2-0) got singles wins from Matt Rosenkrantz, Daniel Erk, Jake Greenstein and Kaltrin Bullaj. Erk also had a hand in a doubles win. In the women's match, York (1-1) received singles points from Emily Price, Darian Naill, Emily Skutnick and Mckenzie Krout. Price also had a hand in a doubles win.
