Northeastern High School graduate Stephen LoBianco has been named the new head cross country and track and field coach at York College.
LoBianco succeeds Erick Camodeca, who stepped down in August to take a job at NCAA Division I Loyola (Md.)
LoBianco is no stranger to the Spartan program, which competes on the Division III level. He had served as Camodeca's distance coach for the last four years.
LoBianco was a four-year cross country and track and field athlete at Shippensburg University. He graduated in 2007. He was the Red Raiders team captain for cross country and also for track and field distance his senior year.
LoBianco begins his duties immediately. He will make his coaching debut on Saturday at the Lehigh University Cross Country Invitational.
Before coming to York College, LoBianco served as an assistant coach with track and field at Northeastern High School, where he concentrated on pole-vault and distance running.
