The York College baseball team continued its season-ending surge on Tuesday with an impressive 15-2 non-league pounding of home-standing Gettysburg.
The Spartans improved to 21-19 overall and have won 16 of their last 24 games, including four straight. York has scored 40 runs in its last four games. Gettysburg finished 25-13.
Colin Porter led the Spartans, going 3-for-3 with three RBIs. Nic Long added three hits, two runs scored and an RBI, while Jimmy King chipped in with two hits, three RBIs and three runs scored. Derek Pitzer and Dustin Worthman each added two hits.
Spartan senior ace Tommy Moran earned the win to improve to 7-2. He went seven innings, scattering seven hits and allowing one unearned run. He struck out one and walked another.
