Three York College softball players have earned All-Capital Athletic Conference honors.
Junior outfielder Hannah Hugel has been named to the All-CAC First Team, while senior shortstop Brittany Schlorff and senior Brittany Therres were selected to the All-CAC Second Team. Therres was selected as a utility player.
Hugel is a three-time CAC all-star, including her second first-team nod this year. She was also the 2010 CAC Rookie of the Year. Therres is making her fourth-straight appearance on the All-CAC team, while Schlorff appears on the second-team squad for the second-straight season.
Hugel hit .379 this season with a team-best 22 runs scored. She was also 14-for-14 in stolen-base attempts. Therres hit .379 with a team-best 16 RBIs. She was also 12-13 as York's primary pitcher with a 3.85 ERA. Schlorff hit .296 with 10 RBIs and 13 runs scored.

YORK'S GURGANUS IS CAC PITCHER OF WEEK: York College freshman pitcher Dan Gurganus has earned the CAC Pitcher of the Week Award for the third time this season. Gurganus threw a two-hit shutout in the Spartans' 9-0 win over Immaculata on Sunday. The freshman right-hander scattered two singles and struck out a career-high nine. It was his third complete game of the year and second shutout. For the season, Gurganus is 5-2 with a 3.33 ERA in 54.0 innings.
