Salisbury University downed visiting York College 5-1 in the second round of the Capital Athletic Conference Softball Tournament on Thursday afternoon.

The loss ended the Spartans' stay in the double-elimination tournament after two-straight losses.

The Sea Gulls, who are ranked No. 17 in NCAA Division III, improved to 33-5 and advanced to the weekend portion of the tournament with a 2-0 record. The Spartans fell to 11-21.

York senior Brittany Therres suffered the loss. She allowed five runs, four earned, on nine hits with a strikeout. She fell to 10-13.

Hannah Hugel and Brittany Schlorff had the Spartans' only two hits, while Hugel scored York's lone run.
