Three York College athletes have earned weekly honors from the Capital Athletic Conference.
Freshman pitcher Dan Gurganus is the CAC Baseball Pitcher of the Week after throwing a two-hit shutout Sunday vs. Frostburg State. Gurganus surrendered two walks and fanned seven.
Sophomore attack Erica Mulford is the CAC Women's Lacrosse Offensive Player of the Week, while junior midfielder Leah Schultz is the CAC Women's Lacrosse Defensive Player of the Week.
Mulford had six goals on seven shots and added a pair of assists and two draw controls in two contests for the Spartans, who are ranked No. 16 in NCAA Division III. Mulford registered career-high offensive totals Saturday against 13th-ranked Mary Washington with six points on five goals and an assist.
Schultz led the Spartans to a pair of CAC victories, including a six-goal win over Mary Washington. In the two games, Schultz had 15 draw controls, three ground balls and two caused turnovers, while adding three goals and an assist on the attack. Against Mary Washington, Schultz contributed six draw controls, both caused turnovers, all three ground balls and two scores.
