Lancaster's James Wolpert advanced again on The Voice Tuesday night.

And North Carolina rocker Kat Robichaud became the first-ever recipient of The Voice instant save 24 hours after she became the first contestant to crowd surf on the show.

The instant save is new this year, introduced to allow fans to save one of the bottom three vote-getters from elimination.

Viewers had five minutes to send a Tweet with #VoiceSave and a contestant's name in hopes of saving that contestant.

James was the final contestant sent to safety before instant save voting began, but that's not necessarily an indication of where he finished in the voting.

The top nine finishers were sent to safety in random order. James and Kat now advance to next Monday's Top 10 show.
