Two men and two women were tied up and held at gunpoint during a home invasion and attempted robbery in Dallastown, according to York Area Regional Police.

Police said three men - one brandishing a gun and wearing a mask like the one in the movie "Scream" - broke in the back door of a home in the 200 block of East Main Street around 9:30 p.m. Tuesday, said Chief Tom Gross.

The four occupants of the house were tied up as the would-be robbers ransacked the home, Gross said.

It didn't appear that much, if anything, was taken, and the men might have been looking for something specific, the chief said.

No one was injured.

"I would say the indicators are that this was not just random," he said. "This residence was the intended location."

During the course of their investigation in the home, police found drug paraphernalia, he said, and one of the victims will be charged with possessing it.

Anyone with information is asked to call police at 741-1259.
