A bomb threat received Friday morning at Eastern York High School in Lower Windsor Township caused school officials to evacuate students from the building.

Rita Becker, assistant superintendent for the district, confirmed the school received the threat this morning and evacuated students at 8:21 a.m.

Becker said police are on scene and are sweeping the building, and said the threat was written in a student bathroom.

Parents have been notified of the evacuation via phone messages and email, Becker said.

Police swept the building with K-9 units and determined there was not a viable threat, said Lower Windsor Township Police Chief Tim Caldwell.

Caldwell said there is an ongoing investigation to find the person who penned the threat.
