Michael E. Parker, 47, of Queensdale Drive, was taken to York Hospital by ambulance, police said.
He was in satisfactory condition Friday morning, a hospital spokesman said.
York City Police said the shooting happened just after 10:30 p.m. in the 800 block of West King Street.
Parker and Nathaniel Nelson, 42, of West King Street, had left a local bar and were walking to their vehicle when they were accosted by two robbers at gunpoint.
One of the robbers pointed a gun at Nelson's head, then struggled with Parker and shot him in the leg, according to witness reports, police said.
Both robbers ran off, police said. A detailed description was not available.
