Late night and early morning travelers will be met with a road closed sign if driving on Interstate 83 southbound in Manchester Township two days this week.
The state Department of Transportation announced Wednesday that the southbound lanes in the area of the bridge over Route 30 will be closed about 11 p.m. Tuesday and Thursday as crews continue a bridge rehabilitation project.
Traffic will be detoured off at Exit 22, the North George Street exit, to Route 30. The highway will be open by 5 a.m. each of the following days, PennDOT said.
Work will be done weather permitting.
The closures are needed for a months-long bridge rehabilitation project.
The $2.27 million project, to be performed by York-based Wagman Inc., includes deck patching, expansion joint replacement, back wall replacement and bearing replacement.
