Police are asking for the public's help in tracking down a thief who could be behind four different thefts from produce stands.

Northern York County Regional Police said they happened between Aug. 21 and Tuesday in the following areas:

* 2900 block of Stillmeadow Lane in Manchester Township

* 4600 block of South Salem Church Road in Dover Township

* 4500 block of Davidsburg Road in Dover Township

* 700 block of Hanover Road in Jackson Township

Cash boxes were damaged and cash was stolen from all four produce stands, according to Regional Lt. David Lash, and some fruits and vegetables were damaged.

A witness saw a sliver Chevrolet or Saturn sedan in the area of one of the thefts, police said.

It was driven by a thin man who is between 5-feet-10 and 6-feet-1, wearing khaki shorts and a dark collared short-sleeve shirt.

Anyone with information about the man or the thefts is asked to call police at (717) 292-3647, or leave a tip online at nycrpd.org.
