York Catholic won every match but No. 2 doubles en route to a 6-1 girls' tennis victory over Central York at Springettsbury Park on Tuesday.

Sarah Koury, Catherine Vizzard, Maggie Javitt, Kathryn Thomas and Carolyn Thomas earned singles points for the Fighting Irish. Vizzard outlasted Leah Chiaverini, 6-1, 6-7 (1), 10-4 in a hard-fought No. 2 singles match, and Carolyn Thomas rallied for a three-set victory over Brooke Hartzell, 4-6, 6-3, 6-1. at No. 5 singles.

Koury and Vizzard teamed to take the No. 1 doubles match, and Central's Teah Gray and Taylor Strausbaugh prevailed at No. 2 doubles.

The two teams are traditional York-Adams powers. York Catholic won Division II a year ago, while Central was third in Division I.

OTHER GIRLS' TENNIS

SUSQUEHANNOCK 7, LITTLESTOWN 0: At Littlestown, the Warriors received straight-set singles victories from Katie Wagner, Usha Baublitz, Hannah Brown, Chelsey Simmers and Sara Lynch to secure the victory.

DOVER 6, HANOVER 1: At Hanover, the Eagles won all the singles matches in straight sets and only dropped one game in the five matches to capture the victory. Mia Becker, Brianna Crone, Emily Reimer, Faith Jackson and Miranda DeLauter each picked up a singles victory.

DALLASTOWN 6, YORK SUBURBAN 1: At Suburban, the Wildcats captured four of the five singles match to earn the win. Emily Kistler, Haley Brown, Christie Friedrich and Artika Saharan each won a singles match. For the Trojans, Erika Toman won a singles match.

RED LION 4, KEN NARD-DALE 3: At Fawn Grove, Kate Jayamaha won in singles and doubles to lead Red Lion. Elizabeth Anderson and Alison Miller also earned singles points for the winners. Alyssa Miller won in singles and doubles for K-D. Kathleen Glackin also picked up a singles point for the Rams.
