A man killed in a fiery Heidelberg Township crash early Sunday morning has been positively identified through dental records, according to the York County Coroner's Office.
Jason Neff, 40, of the first block of Baltimore Street in Hanover, died at 3:20 a.m. of blunt-force and thermal injuries caused by the crash, the coroner's office said on Tuesday morning.
The crash happened in the 6300 block of York Road (Route 116) near the Porters Road intersection, officials said.
Southwestern Regional Police said the BMW was traveling westbound at a high rate of speed when Neff lost control in a turn and struck the tree about 3:20 a.m. The car was fully engulfed in flames within minutes, police said.
Neff's body was burned beyond recognition, according to Coroner Barry Bloss.
The investigation continues. Anyone with information is asked to call Officer Nik Johnson at (717) 225-1333, ext. 112.
