A York City man must spend at least three years in state prison for robbing a West Manchester Township bank last fall.
Jose A. Matias-Rodriguez, 41, of the 600 block of East Market Street, was sentenced Monday morning to three to six years in prison, according to deputy prosecutor Dave Mueller.
He pleaded guilty to one count of robbery on June 28, according to court records.
Matias-Rodriguez walked into the Susquehanna Bank at the Delco Center in the 1200 block of Carlisle Road just before 4 p.m. Oct. 4 and handed a teller a note demanding cash, township police have said.
He fled the bank in a pickup truck with an undisclosed amount of money, but less than a minute after the description of that pickup truck was broadcast by the York County 911 Center, a York City officer spotted it near the York Fairgrounds and pulled over Matias-Rodriguez, police said.
Defense attorney Kevin Hoffman declined comment.
