NEW RINGGOLD, Pa. - Police say a man who allegedly broke into a central Pennsylvania home was shot to death by the homeowner.
State police in Schuylkill County say 18-year-old Zachary Foster was killed in the East Brunswick Township home just before 5:30 p.m. Saturday.
Coroner David Moylan told The (Pottsville) Republican-Herald (http://bit.ly/1aHyBKl ) that the 49-year-old homeowner was armed when he entered his home.
He said the registered gun was kept in the vehicle, but the homeowner saw evidence of the break-in and took the weapon with him to investigate.
Police said a struggle ensued and Foster was shot in the head. An autopsy is planned on his body.
Trooper John Powis of the Frackville station said the investigation continues. No charges have been filed.
