A Harrisburg man is charged with DUI after he was found passed out in his vehicle as it was stopped in traffic in Fairview Township in July.
Officers were dispatched to the area of Wyndamere Road at Woodland Avenue for a vehicle stopped in the middle of a lane of travel about 2:30 p.m. on July 27, police announced on Friday.
Responding officers found Randall Lee Rupert, 58, severely intoxicated, police said. A witness had pulled him from the vehicle.
Due to his level of intoxication, medics took Rupert to Harrisburg Hospital for treatment. While there, Rupert consented to a blood test that showed his blood-alcohol content was .246 percent, police said.
In Pennsylvania, an adult is driving drunk at 0.08 percent.
Police filed charges against Rupert on Aug. 2, and his next court date is Sept. 11 for a preliminary hearing before district judge Scott Gross, according to court documents.
